Fuels Measure helps scientists use the planar intercept method (a.k.a. Brown’s transect) to count the intersections of dead and downed woody fuels. Fuels Measure calculates the volume and weight of downed woody material to estimate fire behavior, smoke production, biomass, carbon storage, and wildlife habitat. Includes a georeferenced photo tool, tallies by size class, log diameters and decay classes, and litter and duff depths. For full functionality in remote locations, user data are stored locally and backed up to the cloud when an internet connection is established.
